Changing Self, One Day at a Time

0 notes

So..

popped into the gym today. With my dodgy timings, I managed to miss one class and it was too long for the other one I fancied doing. Because of that, gym today was a bout of weights and some cardio on a cross-trainer.

Managed also to use the gym’s scales. ‘tis was not pretty - right now, I am near to my heaviest, *sigh*. But then again, the ehavier you are, the quicker the weight drops off to start off with, apparently - that’s some comfort. No gym tomorrow due to work, on Monday possibly a bout in the morning before all my meetings start.

Very ‘meh’ today, but things can only get better. If the promosed snow starts, I am off to our boating lake for a walkaround to get a bit of gentle exercise.

My Tips for “Getting Abs” -
Eat CLEAN (NO JUNK FOOD, choose wholesome, natural sources.. see my grocery list and meal plan for an example of this!)
Do cardio (HIIT is great for fat loss)
Lift weights (revs metabolism, and increases calorie burn over an extended period of time)
Drink water (your body needs water to perform basic functions like mobilize fat stores and build muscle)
Get enough sleep (if you don’t sleep enough, cortisol levels are raised, which promotes fat storage around the abdomen)
Avoid stress (same cortisol problem)
Eat healthy fats (fats like avocado, olive oil, natural peanut butter and almonds help you LOSE fat)
Eat lean proteins (it helps keep you satiated longer and has the highest thermogenic effect of any other macronutrient)
Stay positive, work hard.. you will get there <3

Fact of Life

Eating crap starts an avalance of crap-eating. Not literally, but you know the drill - slice of pizza for lunch and in the evening all you have eaten is junk. Still, the one thing I can honestly say I have noticed is that a.) porridge does fill you up and b.) crap food makes you feel like crap. So I think I am back on the porridge wagon tomorrow, hand of heart and all that.

May need to scour the place for some motivating pics again. Grr.

Forced day off today..

..because of of a wellington boot caused injury (yes, that is not a lie), as well as a day that I need to spend cleaning up, starting work on a potential PhD application and the usual nonsense. And finally doing some sort of a start to the blog here.

The plan was to hit the gym but being generally lazy and ending up on an unplanned night out last night lead to all time tables being massed up. On the bright side, managed to avoid chocolate while at the Uni shop today. And woke up feeling the nice little curve of the body from the rib down to the hipbone feeling a bit clearer. Yes, I was lying down, but it still signifies a bit of a change. Clearly cutting down on salt and not having chocolate has had some effects, even without any real exercise (yet).

Owards to a new working week tomorrow, which means that I may or may not go to the gym this week Time will tell. But right now, I have decided not to stress about it. I will get to my goal eventually, I might as well show some mercy for myself a bit..

Time to start..

..a new Tumblr, which is more a fitblr and a thinblr, to be honest. I have wanted another blog to coexist with my ‘normal one’, which is predominantly about fitmess, dieting, reinvention. And here it is.

OK, I may not aim to be hugely thin in the end, but be warned that this blog will probably have pictures in that are pretty extreme in their form. I find them more inspiring for me, because they show me the capabilities of a body. I am not talking about massive triggering photos of extreme thinness, but the usual ‘thigh gap’ stuff. Apologies if this offends but it’s the way I roll..
